What a fabulous place! We had a wonderful
dinner at The Petit Snail and I got to practice my French with the
delightful hostess and the lovely new waitress. The food was
exquisite and I just LOVED the cocktail list. I wish I could have
tried them all. The live music was also a fantastic addition to the
meal. I wish, wish, wish The Petit Snail would move to Sydney :-)
Yet another reason to rush back to Byron Bay. Thank you so much for
a great night. Cassandra (and Grant)

We loved The Petit Snail so much we came twice - two days in a row
during our week holiday in Bryon Bay! Thank you so much for looking
after us Igor, Dominique and Damien. We had a wonderful time. The
food is glorious! Tucked away in Byron Bay it was such a lovely
surprise. The jazz on Thursday was a perfect complement to a
wonderful dinner. We will return soon for more crepes! I just wished
we lived a little closer. Until the next time. Jamais deux sans
trois! Sam + Michael XXX

This restaurant in perhaps the greatest thing
about Byron Bay. Terrific staff, amazing food and phenomenal
atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful everything. The fantastic
buffet put on to celebrate Bastille Day just made the experience all
the more phenomenal. When visiting Byron going here is not only a
good idea, it is a must. Thank you!

Merci, Merci, Merci! Not only was I staying at the wonderful Byron
Bay for my 30th Birthday but I was lucky enough to discover this
most wonderful of restaurants! The food was out of this world! And
it was not just the food which made this special dining experience
so wonderful - the staff were so friendly we felt as if we were
dining at a family home! I'm a real foodie and just loved hearing
where the meat was farmed, where the cheeses had ripened and where
the vegies were grown. This is a restaurant which is all about the
food. Good quality ingredients put together with love to create
something so wonderful and mouth watering you want to try everything
on the menu! Igor even shared his cooking secrets with us after the
meal and I have tried them all! Thankyou again for a really
wonderful birthday which i will remember always! Bev.

Our first night in Byron Bay was the most
memorable, all thanks to "The Petit Snail". It was my girlfriends
birthday and what better way to celebrate, but to enjoy the culinary
delights of her homeland. The moment we walked in you felt as though
you had stepped into a restaurant 16,000Kms away. We were made to
feel at home by Dominique, who before long was reminiscing with
Sonia about old French singers, accessories etc. I haven't even
started on the food!!!! Igor is a genius! This was by far the best
French food I have had. The starters were unbelievable and the
Bouillabaisse......... I don't know where to start. Being a seafood
lover, this ticked every box, plus more! We are already planning our
next trip to Byron, the main reason being, we are craving "The Petit
Snail"! Thanks guys!!!!!

viadlement! Superbe! "I have died and gone to heaven" These are what
I overheard never mind tasted at your restaurant. I am died in the
wool "Francophile". Lived in France, love the food. However despite
being in Australia for 22 years never quite got there or found a
French Restaurant that gave me it all! Now I have. We have the Wild
Rabbit...you have to book 3 days in advance. The flavours were rich,
the wild mushrooms I would sell my soul for! What is not said is the
understated grace of this restaurant. You come in as a stranger and
leave with friends you feel you have known all your life! I always
remember eating in France as a shared experience. Food is to be
enjoyed amongst friends and discussed. We had discussions with
welfare officers from Coffs re Crème Brûlée, and Absinthe (hick).,
and Iranian Sculptress from National Academy of Arts, who waxed
eloquent about the Chateaubriand, and me, well it was the Cheese.
Igor and Chauby are the heart and soul of the place, and manage to
create (how, I do not know) an unique combination of great French
food and mix their personalities with the guests that creates
something truly unique and wonderful. Merci, je suis justement un
petit lapin! Et nous reviendrons!

Fondue! This is a must... you must book it in advance, but it is
definitely worth it. Igor's grand fathers delicious recipe (which
some day we will work out or encourage the information out through
fine wines and spirits) brings us back again and again. If you enjoy
true gastronomy then let Igor and Chauby take your senses on a
journey through quintessential traditional French cuisine... and
prepare to have fun :D Our top vote for restaurants in Byron.

wife and I had dinner at this fantastic French Restaurant. We have
dined in some of the best restaurants in France including the Hotel
de Paris in Montecarlo, Maxim in Paris and 'Les Pirates' in
Perpignan and we both agree that this restaurant offers the best
that France (and the Provence) have to offer. Dinner was an
experience and we highly recommend this restaurant to all Byron Bay
residents and visitors. Merci mes amis, et au revoir. John E. and

love French food, and went to The Petit Snail with our friends who
run a Gorgeous B & B called Valleydale at Rosebank in the hinterland
of Byron Bay. The atmosphere, staff and hosts were fun, and the food
exceptional... we only visit once a year but will be back to enjoy
the food. |

From the accidental stroll past this touch of
France in Byron, to a Pernod on the couches outside, then the most
delightful meal "and service" had anywhere for such a long time,
what a great experience, and a must for all who go to Byron.

Ian and Leanne Berry from Bathurst said:
What can we say? We were looking for something
outside the "cafe" culture that seems to be everywhere in Byron. We
saw The Petit Snail in the corners of our eyes (it's down a side
street opposite Woolies by the way) and one quick look at the menu
was enough for us. The ambience was just right and the atmosphere
more like eating at home than in a restaurant. The food is nothing
short of sensational... the scallops were to die for, the veal
casserole a real taste of country France and the Bouillabaisse a
real treat. Having arrived at 7.30 in the evening it was 12.15
before we left. Spent well over an hour talking with Igor and
Dominique outside over coffee and Armagnac before we eventually felt
obliged to leave them to clean up... sorry guys, not what we came
for! Bathurst is a long way from Byron but we now have every reason
to come back; and we will be back. Thank you so much Igor and
Dominique; we thought this sort of restaurant had disappeared.
