Fondue! This is a must... you must book it in advance, but it is
definitely worth it. Igor's grand fathers delicious recipe (which
some day we will work out or encourage the information out through
fine wines and spirits) brings us back again and again. If you enjoy
true gastronomy then let Igor and Chauby take your senses on a
journey through quintessential traditional French cuisine... and
prepare to have fun :D Our top vote for restaurants in Byron.

John E Muratti from Melbourne said: My
wife and I had dinner at this fantastic French Restaurant. We have
dined in some of the best restaurants in France including the Hotel
de Paris in Montecarlo, Maxim in Paris and 'Les Pirates' in
Perpignan and we both agree that this restaurant offers the best
that France (and the Provence) have to offer. Dinner was an
experience and we highly recommend this restaurant to all Byron Bay
residents and visitors. Merci mes amis, et au revoir. John E. and

Judy & Ken Thomson from Sydney said: We both
love French food, and went to The Petit Snail with our friends who
run a Gorgeous B & B called Valleydale at Rosebank in the hinterland
of Byron Bay. The atmosphere, staff and hosts were fun, and the food
exceptional... we only visit once a year but will be back to enjoy
the food. |

From the accidental stroll past this touch of
France in Byron, to a Pernod on the couches outside, then the most
delightful meal "and service" had anywhere for such a long time,
what a great experience, and a must for all who go to Byron.

Ian and Leanne Berry from Bathurst said:
What can we say? We were looking for something
outside the "cafe" culture that seems to be everywhere in Byron. We
saw The Petit Snail in the corners of our eyes (it's down a side
street opposite Woolies by the way) and one quick look at the menu
was enough for us. The ambience was just right and the atmosphere
more like eating at home than in a restaurant. The food is nothing
short of sensational... the scallops were to die for, the veal
casserole a real taste of country France and the Bouillabaisse a
real treat. Having arrived at 7.30 in the evening it was 12.15
before we left. Spent well over an hour talking with Igor and
Dominique outside over coffee and Armagnac before we eventually felt
obliged to leave them to clean up... sorry guys, not what we came
for! Bathurst is a long way from Byron but we now have every reason
to come back; and we will be back. Thank you so much Igor and
Dominique; we thought this sort of restaurant had disappeared.
